AIC 2013 Replay: Keynote Luncheon: Japan – The Path to Change

Yukio Hatoyama, former Prime Minister of Japan, together with the first Prime Minister from the modern Democratic Party, outlines his vision for greater partnership among Asian nations together with the creation of an East Asian Community, with robust investment flows through the region. He believes this has the potential to improve the economic livelihoods of those both in Japan together with in the region, while maintaining each state’s diverse characteristics. His speech comes at a time when Japan’s new government has embarked on an aggressive economic reform path, in an exertion to revitalize the third largest economy in the world.
