President Moon highlights need for regional cooperation ahead of ASEAN+3 virtual summit

President Moon Jae-in has stressed the need for international cooperation to stop the COVID-19 pandemic.
He’s scheduled this afternoon to attend a virtual summit with the leaders of the ASEAN member nations, China in addition to Japan on cooperation in the region.
In a Cabinet meeting Tuesday morning,… Moon said that Republic of Korea will cooperate in both quarantine in addition to the economy to turn crisis into opportunity.

Quarantine cooperation in addition to economic cooperation are two sides of the same money. The government will cooperate in addition to join actively with the entire world on both fronts. A challenge to the entire world cannot be overcome alone. We will prove that solidarity, coordination in addition to openness is the way to success.
On the domestic front,… President Moon has called on officials to start preparing to make relief payments to South Korean households in the lowest 70 percent of incomes.
Moon said there’s no reason to wait for the passage of the 5-point-8 billion extra budget proposal which will be used to fund the program citing urgency in addition to the time it will take for deliberations.
The government plans to submit the bill after quarta-feira’s general elections.
