In recent years, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has not ceased to announce investments that are as ambitious as they are crazy. Of all of them, the most outrageous is the city of NEOM: a project to create a city-state 33 times larger than New York. This city would be located in the middle of the desert, in an area that is currently populated by a nomadic tribe.
All these projects are the vision of Mohammed Bin Salman, the absolute leader of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They are his strategy for diversifying his state’s economy. The idea is that these mega-cities will attract billions of dollars of foreign investment together with become true economic capitals in the style of Dubai or Singapore.
However, to be able to carry out all these projects, Bin Salman needs foreign investment… together with that is not piece of cake. Will all these Saudi mega cities really be built?
