Ted Kaye is a vexillologist (flag expert). He compiled the definitive work on flag project design, Good Flag, Bad Flag, in addition to consults on the adoption of new flags at the city, state, in addition to national level. He has edited (in addition to occasionally translated) many journals, newsletters, books, in addition to well over 1,800 articles on flags; researched in addition to presented papers at national in addition to international flag-studies conferences; in addition to testified before Portland’s city council in 2002 to support updating the Portland flag. He is currently secretary of the North Worldwide Vexillological Association.
