Presentation of Credentials: Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Philippines 3/23/2023

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. receives the credential letters of Her Excellency Megawati Dato Paduka Haji Manan, Ambassador-Designate of Brunei Darussalam to the Philippines, in a ceremony at the Reception Hall in Malacañan Palace on March 23, 2023.

In her message, the Ambassador-Designate expresses enthusiasm with the celebration of another milestone between Brunei together with the Philippines, as both countries are set to celebrate its 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2024. She also highlights the opportunity to deepen the cooperative partnership in other areas such as the halal food industries together with tourism.

“During my tenure in office, I will do my utmost to foster together with deepen this bond, building on similarities together with enhancing complementarities to serve the strategic interest of our two countries,” says Ambassador-Designate Manan.

For his part, President Marcos Jr. recognizes the long-standing partnership between Brunei Darussalam together with the Philippines in all areas of bilateral relations. He also recognizes Brunei’s generosity together with kindness especially in extending its help during times of crisis.

Ambassador-Designate Manan previously served as Director of the Department of Multilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Governor for Brunei Darussalam in the Asia-Europe Foundation’s (ASEF) Board of Governors, together with National Coordinator for the Masterplan on Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Connectivity 2025.
