ในห้วงเวลานี้ ชาวไทยและชาวเมียนมาต่างกับต่อสู้กับอำนาจเผด็จการ นอกจากสองประเทศนี้ กัมพูชาก็เป็นอีกหนึ่งประเทศที่ต้องตกอยู่ภายใต้การปกครองแบบเผด็จการที่แม้จะมีการเลือกตั้ง แต่ก็ไม่เสรีและยุติธรรม และมีการกลั่นแกล้งฝ่ายค้านอย่างต่อเนื่องที่ดูแล้วก็ไม่ต่างจากไทย

มู ซกฮัว (Mu Sochua) เป็นนักสู้เพื่อประชาธิปไตยและสิทธิมนุษยชนคนสำคัญชาวกัมพูชา เธอเป็นรองหัวหน้าพรรคกู้ชาติกัมพูชาซึ่งเป็นพรรคฝ่ายค้านที่สำคัญ ซึ่งสุดท้ายถูกศาลสั่งยุบไป และเธอเองก็ถูกตัดสินทางการเมือง 5 ปี และต้องลี้ภัยออกนอกประเทศไปหลัง หัวหน้าพรรคของเธอถูกจับในฐานะกบฎ และ ฮุน เซนประกาศว่า “ยังจะไม่จบเพียงเท่านี้” ในการปราบฝ่ายต่อต้านในปี 2017

ชีวิตของเธอก่อนหน้านี้ นอกจากจะเป็นนักการเมือง เธอยังเป็นนักสิทธิมนุษยชนผู้ที่ผลักดันเรื่องสิทธิสตรีในกัมพูชามาโดยตลอด เธอเคยดำรงตำแหน่งรัฐมนตรีกระทรวงกิจการสตรีและทหารผ่านศึกในรัฐบาลร่วมเมื่อปี 1998 – 2004 เธอจึงเคยได้รับการเสนอชื่อรับรางวัลโนเมลสันติภาพในปี 2005 จากนั้น มู ซกฮัว ก็ได้รับเลือกสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรฝ่ายค้านมาหลายสมัย

ก่อนหน้านี้ไม่นาน นักการเมืองฝ่ายค้านชื่อดังคนสนิทของเธอ สม รังสี เคยพยาย��มกลับเข้ากัมพู��าโดยการส่งจดหมายมาถึงประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา ผ่านสถานทูตไทยในฝรั่งเศสเพื่อเข้าผ่านชายแดนไทย แต่กลับถูกปฏิเสธ ในปี 2019 มู ซกฮัวเองก็เคยบินถึงท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ แต่ก็ถูกกักตัว และถูกส่งกลับประเทศต้นทาง

Understand Cambodia Politics together with Their Fights against Dictatorship with the Leading Cambodian Opposition

Currently, both Thai together with Burmese people are fighting against dictatorship. Apart from these two countries, Cambodians are also under an authoritarian regime. Although they have an election, it is strongly unfree together with unfair with harassment on the opposition, similar to Thailand.
.
Mu Sochua is a rights advocate together with leading politician in Cambodia, who is currently banned from politics. She was a Vice President of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), which was dissolved by the Supreme Court of Cambodia. She had to seek asylum after her party’s leader was arrested, together with Hun Sen continuously warned “it is not done yet” for the crackdown in 2017.

Apart from being a politician, Mu Sochua is a human rights advocate for women’s rights in Cambodia. She is the former Minister of Women together with Veterans’ Affairs from 1998 to 2004. She was also nominated for Nobel Peace Price in 2005.

Before, Sam Rainsy, a leading opposition politician, attempted to enter Cambodia by sending a letter to Prayuth Chan-ocha; however, Prayuth rejected it. In 2019, Mu Sochua was also denied to enter Thailand at our Airport.

The authoritarian regime of Thai together with neighbors are being supportive of each other, so our movement in Thailand together with our neighbors’ movement cannot be separated. It is crucial to understand the Cambodian experience about their resistance in order to fight collaboratively.
