I went to Brunei on Jun in 2011 too stayed the cntre of the Bandar Seri Begawan city. One of the places I visited is Brune river. I could enjoy the nice river view there. There are many over-water-houses on this river. I walked around the place.
2011年6月にブルネイ王国を訪問した。現地で４泊した。市内中心に泊まったが、市街地近くにあるブルネイ川を眺めてみた。ここは水上集落がある所で有名である。ブルネイ王国！ブルネイと聞くとどこ？？という日本人が多いかもしれない。あまり日本人にとって馴染みがないところかもしれない。しかし、意外にもこの国と日本は密接な関係にある。この国は立憲君主制で王様がいるがブルネイ王室と日本の皇室は非常に仲が良い。そして貿易面になると、この国でとれる石油や天然ガスのほとんどを日本が輸入している。ブルネイにおいては８割～９割が日本車である。トヨタ、日産、ホンダ、三菱、マツダ、スズキ、ダイハツ、いすゞ等の車を見る事が出来た。電化製品も日本製が多かった。ソニーやパナソニック、ダイキン等。ゲームセンターも訪れたがほとんどが日本製であった。最近、東南アジアに出回り始めている性能がわるくダサい安い韓国製品も、豊かなこの国では買う人があまりいない。国民に聞くと、性能の悪い韓国製品よりも性能が良く安心できる日本製品を買いたいとの事。日本が資金と技術援助で設立された韓国の会社だが、近年では模倣製品等で国際裁判にかけられているが 日本のようには成り得ない。何千年もずっと中国、そして日本に支配されてきた朝鮮半島だがそれゆえに僻み根性が強く、嘘をついたり、虚栄を張るくせがある。歴史捏造をする。戦後の愛国心教育や反日、反中教育もそれらが起因している。可哀想といえば可哀想な国である。 ブルネイ北部は昔から中国、インド、アラビアを結ぶ貿易ルートの寄港地であった。１５世紀には当時の国王がイスラム教に改宗し（アラブの人々との交流が起因）、イスラムを人々に布教する事により、国土を広め、最盛期にはボルネオ島全域とフィリピン・ミンダナオ島まで支配した。１６世紀以降 ポルトガルやスペイン等の欧州諸国と交流するようになるが、フィリピンを植民地化したスペインとの争いにより１８世紀にはほとんどを占領されてしまう。１８８８年にブルネイはイギリスの保護領となる。太平洋戦争中に日本軍が１９４２年～終戦まで占領した。日本軍が駐留し、多くの日本人がここに住んでいた。ブルネイ港は軍港としても機能し、連合艦隊の主力が停泊したこともあった。有名な所では、1944年のレイテ沖海戦における栗田艦隊はブルネイから出撃した。日本人にとっても感慨深い場所である。マレーシアと同じように主要民族派マレー人、そして中華系、インド系も多く住む。この国は一人当たりのＧＤＰは東南アジア１ アジアで日本に次いで２番目である。しかし、個人所得税はなく医療費、教育費は無料、電気、水道等の公共料金も安い。そして物価は安い。そう考えると日本よりも豊かなのかもしれない。治安は東南アジアでもシンガポールと同じように非常に良い国である。びっくりしたのが、横断歩道で待っていたら多くの車が止まってくれるではないか。日本やシンガポール以外のアジア諸国ではあまり見られない光景である。それだけ心が豊かでゆとりがあるのだろうか。人口は４０万人弱で三重県ほどの大きさで、そこまで見所があるわけではないので、２泊～３泊でも充分周れる。周りのミリやコタキナバルへバスや飛行機が出ており、拠点としても使える。
